Now playing…
Today marked the first day of RadioHudd gracing our airwaves. With it first going on air at mid day, a new beginning was marked in a new avenue of student interaction and outreach. The half hour leading up to air time was filled with final check and re-checks that made me feel nervous, and I wasn’t even going on air, or so I thought. Head of [...]

RadioHudd, the long-awaited Students' Union radio station is now on air. After months of preparation, station creators Kris Lockhart and Matt Christie opened the station with lecturer Max Easterman and Deputy Manager of the SU, Jenny Haigh. The media misinforms. Fact.
I applied to be the politics sub-editor because modern media frustrates me. I am sick and tired of purposefully misconstrued facts to push further the agenda of the media conglomerates. The media no longer consistently bases its arguments in facts, but in opinions disguised with facts - certain facts having somewhat dubious backgrounds. For [...]
It’s a mad house: Freshers’ Fayre, first glance
Last week saw the University of Huddersfield Students' Union (UHSU) Freshers' Fayre, the main event that introduces Huddersfield’s latest naive young’uns to the big wide world of university life. Retraction: Huddersfield Fashion…in Paris
Huddersfield Student would like to apologise to the School of Art, Design and Architecture (ADA), and our readers, for inaccuracy in 'Huddersfield Fashion...in Paris', an article referring to an academic link that ended in 2007. First issue issues
The September issue of Huddersfield Student has been available for just over a week now, and people seem to be responding positively to the change and size and the redesign. In the 2005/06 academic year, the Students’ Union President was John Goodwin - which is granted before most of our time at Huddersfield. Amongst the active members within the SU, he is well known within the Union as one of the better Presidents in recent history - and is now working in the newly created position within the Students’ Union [...]

With the backing of greetings card tycoon Dean Hoyle, Town have once again been able to flex their muscle in the transfer market, with summer signings Jordan Rhodes, Theo [...]
Seymour-Jackson under fire from NUS over late loan payments
NUS President Wes Streeting has criticised Student Finance England and its CEO Ralph Seymour Jackson after delays in the payment of 50,000 student loans were described as 'reasonable'. Seymour-Jackson appeared on BBC breakfast news this morning, saying that the delay in loan and grant payments was "not perfect, but it's reasonable." On his [...]
